When you least expect it.
« on: September 06, 2021, 08:12:37 AM »
I think Steven Rinella said, "The one thing you can be sure of when hunting bears is, they will always do something you did not expect."

A friend and I hunted 'high and low' in units 111 and 117 for 11 days without finding any fresh bear sign.  Then, when a part of Umatilla National Forest opened, we headed there.  I took a bear in less than 20 hours after arriving!  Now this bear walked up to my deer feeder a few miles from Colville, WA in unit 117.  It probably crossed my driveway where I could see it from our trailer.  (second tag is in my pocket)

Nice bear. Go get it.

It was a bit over 2 1/2 days before he came back.  On his first visit, he left a single track in our horse corral.

This is one of a few videos from his first visit.  He got in front of the camera 4 times in a full hour.
